Government & Public Relations

As a principal organizational area within OARTY's 3-Year Strategic Plan, volunteer and staff activities are developed annually on behalf of the membership based on achieving the following:

Objective
To influence government decision-making that supports membership interests in the areas of residential public policy, regulations and operational procedures

Strategies
   - Ensure stronger OARTY positioning on key issues by enhancing alliances with principal stakeholders
   - Promote recommendations within OARTY Proposed Residential Care Model
   - Increase OARTY public presence.

Residential Services Review

As the provincial body representing the Residential Care and Treatment Sector, OARTY continues to be a strong and respected voice that actively participates in the formation of government policies and procedures affecting residential services to children, youth and young adults.  Below you will information on the Residential Services Review conducted by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, as well as OARTY's recommendations and input regarding this review.
