Mon Ami Children's Services is owned and operated by Bernie Gannon, Mark Higgins and Janet O'Rourke. Together they have over 30 years of experience in the field of child care. Mon Ami consists of 6 licensed group homes. There is one assessment home (coed), an adolescent home for boys only, two latency aged treatment programs for boys, one latency aged treatment program for girls and a parent model, staff assisted home (coed).
Lucy Nusink is the Program Manager for one long term latency treatment program for boys and for the long term treatment program for girls. Dave McKnight is the Program Manager for the adolescent home and the assessment home. Lisa Fenn is the Program Manager for a long term latency home for boys and is also the Day Treatment Co-ordinator for our four Section 23 Classrooms.
Dr. Anita Halpern, (C.Psych) consults to all our programs and reviews each child's progress with their treatment team. The team reviews each child's history of placements, the child's experiences, current issues, etc and together, develops an individual treatment plan for the child. The treatment team reviews the "Individual Treatment Plan" on a regular basis during their bi-weekly staff meetings.
Dr. Charlie Menendez, Psychologist, provides cognitive or play therapy on a fee for service basis. He is located in Peterborough.
Mon Ami has four Section 20 classrooms with one full time Child and Youth Worker in each classroom provided by Mon Ami. The classrooms are in community elementary public schools.
