The Sinclair Children's Residence provides 24-hour care and supervision, and accepts children from ages newborn, through adulthood, who have severe, chronic medical conditions in a Foster Care setting. These conditionions may result in a prolonged dependency on medical care to maintain maximum health and well-being. This dependency may be characterized by periods of acute exacerbation of life-threatening conditions, ongoing medical intervention and monitoring, the need for extraordinary supervision and observation, frequent or time-consuming administration of specialized treatments, and higher than average risk for the loss of a life-sustaining body function. For example: a dependence on a mechanical device-based respiratory or nutritional support, including tracheotomy care, oxygen support, and internal tube feeding.
