Our Therapeutic Foster Care program recruits, trains and supports qualified and experienced foster families in providing care to children and youth who are experiencing behaviour, social, emotional, physical and/or academic difficulties. Program support would include but is not limited to such services as tutoring, counselling, day care and L.I.F.E skills programs.
Our Special Needs Foster Care program recruits, trains and supports foster families qualified and experienced in providing care to children and youth who demonstrate physical, developmental and/or physical needs requiring significant levels of direct care support. Support services include in-home staffing support of up to 15 hrs/week per child. Staff are trained professionals in the special services field and provide a variety of duties for assisting foster families in caring for children with special needs.
Our Complex Medical Care Group Home, Spartan Grove Residence, supports children from newborn to age 18 with a variety of severe disabilities and medical conditions. This home is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The children that are placed at Spartan Grove Residence have chronic disabilities that require the expertise of qualified staff. Children may be palliative, require suctioning, chest care, oxygen support, enteral tube feeding, seizure disorders and have a variety of physical and developmental disabilities. The staff are well trained in lifting, medication administration, g/j tube feedings, chest care, suctioning and all aspects of daily care. The staff also provides the necessary therapies, stimulation and emotional support to the children.
